Ten-Ten's treasured moments

I have been to many wonderful places in Paradise Philippines, but there is one place, I consider very close to my heart – Palawan. There, I spent my last few days with my sisters before coming to Dubai.

Having lived in the province for some time, I was right to expect the same air, the all familiar smell of road dusts, and the noise of tricycle motors in the busy streets of Puerto Princesa. I admit, I wanted to be astounded with the spectacular views of the city when we got off the plane, and yet there were no signs of excitement in the place, until...

The following day, we left the city to go to the outskirts of Palawan. We were on the road for long hours; m y sisters and I were too tired to see the rocky mountains of Palawan, in anticipation of the clear blue waters the tour guide was blabbing about for hours. Finally, after the long and tiring drive and a short ferryboat trip, we were in awe of the beautiful landscape and seascape Palawan had presented.

The islands were so beautiful, very naked and yet very mystifying; the water was so clear and yet, it seemed to draw you deep into an abyss. It was the spell of paradise, I realized - to enchant our hearts and look into the depths of our souls. We were captivated by its flawlessness, no doubt.

It was truly a joy to have shared it with my sisters. Our few days there were like the longest and one of my treasured moments at home – indeed a paradise at its best.

Paradise Philippines Volcano Tourism

You know the old saying that if life gives you a lemon, make lemonaide?
Well, the Paradise Philippines is now planning to start a new trend: Volcano Tourism.

The hottest “tourist destination” in Luzon are the eco tourism groups visiting the devestation around Mt Pinatubo.

There are nature tours of the region, which stress the devastation and the natural recovery of the ecosystem, along with teaching about the traditional ways of the local people. Of course, swimming in the crater’s lake is also available for those healthy enough to climb to the top…

But if you like less “Mordor” like scenery, try hiking up the Mayon volcano instead.

Oblation Run in Paradise Philippines

by: anonymous

I got to watch the movie "Naked Mile" dubbed as part of the American Pie movie series. It is for this reason that I remembered that back in Paradise Philippines, we do have this U.P Oblation Run. For those who doesn't know, U.P stands for University of the Philippines. When you enter the portals of this government subsidized college institution, you will be greeted by this famous naked statue.

Yearly, members of the Alpha Phi Omega (APO) fraternity run in their birthday suits with masks on their faces around U.P., more specifically around Palma Hall in tribute to the Oblation, the university emblem that signifies academic freedom. This annual event is constantly patronize not only by th U.P. students but also by the students from other colleges and universities in Paradise Philippines. It usually happens at noon for preparations are done in the morning. It would be consistently jam packed as a mixed crowd of students, media people, journalists and photographers gather to witness this event.

Whatever the crowd thinks of this awesome display of freedom, bravery, camaraderie, social gathering - it boils down to Philippine Tradition.

Puerto Galera - Paradise Philippines

by: anonymous

It was summer of last year when I had a chance to go with my friends to Puerto Galera in Paradise Philippines. The island was full of people because it was a long public holiday and most people from Manila and provinces like Cavite, Laguna and Batangas come here to relax and have fun.

There are several beaches in Puerto Galera Island like Sabang, Suqui, Banilad, Bongol, La Laguna, Small La Laguna, Talipanan, Melco, Punta Guarda and White beach where we went. We all know that going to beach in Paradise Philippines during summer season is really fun and exciting. Not only because of spending it with our family or friends but because of the many activities that you can do and local artist were also there to perform and give enjoyment.

Paradise Philippines has its world class scuba diving and it is available and easily accessible at the nearby Sabang beach. It was really a great feeling playing with those fishes and looking at many corals. I will definitely do it again.

Puerto Galera is a town on the northeastern coast of Mindoro Island in Paradise Philippines, you can get there from Manila by bus going to Batangas port and from there, you will take a boat called ro-ro. It is only 4-5 hours trip from Manila.

Manila Hotel - Paradise Philippines

When a tourist visits a country, one of the most important matters to consider in his travel plan is where he/she shall stay. In Paradise Philippines, just like in any other countries, hotels are perhaps the best option.

Hotels in Paradise Philippines are generally equipped with the modern facilities and are at par with some of the world’s best. While most of theses hotels are franchise of international hotel chains, they are nevertheless combined with that unique Filipino charm and hospitality.

Say for example, the Manila Hotel. This hotel stood witness to the Paradise Philippines storied past. And it remains part of its vibrant present with an elegance beyond compare. I once remembered having stayed in the place. As a local, I am amazed by its majestic pillars and arches as I was immersed in a heritage both unique and encompassing. I, together with my family delighted in its exquisite cuisine. Having been there was indeed an affair worth remembering.

If you are traveling for pleasure, the hotel will not disappoint you. There are indeed plenty of facilities to while your time away. First, there is the hotel’s swimming pool where you can bask in the sun’s glorious rings or plunge down in the pool’s cool water. You can also try your luck at the hotel’s casino. Some hotels have their own disco houses which are quite popular with the local crowd. Some hotels are connected to shopping centers. Although most of the hotels are located in the country’s business district or near people’s tourist destination.

In Dubai, you can also find great hotels. So if you are planning to visit Dubai, check out this online hotel bookings Dubai.

Paradise Philippines "Adobo"

All over the world, Paradise Philippines is known for their adobo. Everywhere I go and each national I meet, the first thing they ask me about is adobo, adobo, adobo.

There are variations of adobo. May it be pork, chicken, kangkong or squid. Each has its own kick, each has its own tongue to satisfy. But for me pork tops that list.

Preparations for this cooking vary from place to place in paradise Philippines. But the basic groundwork comes down to soy sauce and vinegar with the occasional sugar to taste. Oh! Don’t forget about the streaming fat covering the meat. Adobo is not itself without the trademark heart-clogging grease all over.

Given the chance, I swear I won’t get tired eating the same meal everyday for an entire month granting that my artery-unfriendly-meal is on the table. Too bad, I watch my cholesterol intake that the most I could have of my favorite would be once in every three weeks to a month.

Philipine "Adobo" Recipe

1-1/2 pounds pork, shoulder or butt cut into 1-1/2" cubes
1/3 cup vinegar
3 tablespoon soy sauce
1 teaspoon salt
1 each onion -- sliced
3 cloves garlic -- minced

1 small bay leaf
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 tablespoon sugar
1/2 cup water
2 tablespoon cooking oil

All hail to what is original Paradise Philippines recipe.
